Newark Academy proudly partners with SAGE Dining for all food service needs. SAGE is the leading food service provider for independent schools throughout North America and offers a wide variety of lunch choices.

As noted in the 2020-2021 Student and Parent Handbook, students may not bring food prepared outside the school building into the Dining Hall at any time.

This year, SAGE Dining Services is preparing all food from scratch on site and packaging all food in a grab-and-go style.

LOCATION OF DINING

Community members will eat lunch outdoors or while socially distanced in large spaces with plexiglass dividers.

Social distancing markers will be located on the floors to ensure safe distancing between students while in line to pick up lunch. There will be five lines:  three hot entree lines, including standard and vegan entrees, and two salad/sandwich lines. Beverages and desserts will be located at each line.

BREAKFAST AND SNACKS AVAILABLE ON CAMPUS

Breakfast and afternoon snacks are now available for students. Breakfast will take place each day from 7:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in “Line 1.” Afternoon snacks will take place from 2:20 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Students are strongly encouraged to eat outdoors, as the weather permits.

DINING OPTIONS

Families are encouraged to review the menu options and allergen information that are available on the Touch of SAGE mobile app or the Newark Academy SAGE Dining Community website.

Students with specific food allergies that are in the food they would like that day should come to the regular serving line by the coffee station and a SAGE Team Member will assist them.  If the meal they want for the day does not contain the allergen, the student should remain in the regular line in the dining room to pick up his or her meal.

If there are any questions in regards to meal offerings, please contact Food Service Director James DeSilvestri, at sage@newarka.edu
